ಚಿಕ್ಕಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬೋಫೋರ್ಸ್, ಚಾರಾ gotala , ಹವಾಲಾ ಅಂತಾ ಕೇಳ್ತಾನೆ ಇದೀನಿ...ಇದನೆಲ್ಲ ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಲೋಕೆ ಯಾವತ್ತು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ... ಈ ಲಿಸ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಎಂಟ್ರಿ "2G Spectrum Scam".. King among the scams ಅಂತಾ ಬಿರುದು ಕೊಡಬಹುದು..According to CAG it is a presumptive loss of 1,76000 crores to the govt of India. I did go thorugh lot of websites to understand this. Below is what I could understand.
What Exactly is 2G Scam?
2G licenses were issued to the private telecom companies at very low prices compared to market prices. Rules and procedures were amended to benefit the favoured companies. Cut off dates were advanced by a week. License were alloted on FIFO basis. No proper auction process followed, no bids invited. Advice of PMO, law ministry, TRAI and Finance ministry were ignored.
Who all are accused to be involved?
Politicians and Govt officials:
A Raja - Ex Minister of IT and Tele commnications.
R K Chandolia - private secretary of Raja.
All former minister of Tele comminications from 2001
Media Persons:
Barkha Dutt: I used to like her for her talk show "We the people". Now she should rename it to "Fake the People".
Veer Sanghvi: I never liked him, looks arrongant. Need a dictionary to understand what he speaks on the shows.
Nira Radia: Corporate Lobbyst, who negotiates with the minsters on bahalf of Corporates
